Help
Installation, playlists, the sync account and common problems.
For now, the app's interface is in Spanish only. This page names each button and menu as the app shows it, with its meaning in brackets.
Requirements
Zapper IPTV is a player: it does not include channels, movies or series, and we cannot recommend a provider. You need an IPTV subscription that you are entitled to access, with one of these:
- Xtream Codes: the server address, a username and a password.
- M3U playlist: an address that usually ends in
.m3uor.m3u8, or the downloaded file.
If your provider gives you both, choose Xtream: it loads the catalogue faster and includes movies and series. An M3U playlist only contains live channels.
Adding a playlist
The first time you open the app, it asks for a playlist. Later you can add more from Mis listas → Añadir lista (My playlists → Add playlist).
- Type a name (optional; if you leave it empty, the playlist takes the name of its address).
- Choose the kind: Xtream, URL M3U or Archivo M3U (M3U file).
- Fill in the details. For M3U playlists you can add the address of the programme guide (EPG) if your provider gives it separately.
- Press Añadir lista (Add playlist). The app checks the details, downloads the catalogue and opens the home screen.
If something fails, the app tells you why: no connection, the server does not answer, wrong username or password, or an expired or suspended account. Only your provider can solve the last two.
Several playlists
You can save several playlists and switch between them in Mis listas (My playlists). Each playlist has its own catalogue, favourites and progress: the same movie in two playlists does not share its playback position.
Android TV
The app is driven with the arrows and the centre button of the remote. In the live TV player:
- Up and down: next and previous channel in the list.
- Right: opens the channel list without leaving the broadcast.
- Left: goes back to the last channel you were watching.
- Numbers: if the remote has them, type the channel number.
- Guide or Info: shows the channel's schedule.
To avoid typing passwords with the remote, if you have an account, choose Emparejar con código (Pair with a code) in Mis listas on the TV. On your phone or computer, open the account, press Emparejar un televisor (Pair a TV), type the 6-digit code and check that the verification number is the same on both screens before confirming.
iPhone, iPad and Mac
On the Mac, the sections are in the sidebar and in the Ir a (Go to) menu, with these shortcuts:
- ⌘0 Buscar (Search)
- ⌘1 Inicio (Home)
- ⌘2 TV
- ⌘3 Series
- ⌘4 Películas (Movies)
- ⌘5 Mis listas (My playlists)
- ⌘, Ajustes (Settings)
AirPlay and, on iPhone and iPad, picture in picture are available when the broadcast arrives as HLS or MP4. With other formats, those buttons do not appear.
Sync account
The account is optional. It keeps the same playlists, favourites and progress on all your devices. Without it, the app works just the same.
- When you create it, the app shows a recovery code only once. Keep it: it lets you recover your playlists if you forget your password.
- If you already have playlists on the device, the app asks whether you want to move them to the account. The ones you do not move stay on that device only.
- From the app you can see your devices, remove one, sign out or delete the account.
How this data is protected is explained in the privacy policy.
Installing the APK on Android
On a phone or tablet
- Download the APK from the Download section.
- Open it. The first time, Android asks for permission to install unknown apps from the browser or the file manager: grant it to that app only.
On Android TV
- Install a downloader app on the TV from Google Play.
- Open it and type this address:
zapperiptv.app/apk. It always downloads the latest version. - Accept the installation when the download finishes.
Later versions are offered by the app itself, which checks their signature before installing them.
Common problems
A channel does not play or keeps cutting out
The broadcast comes straight from your provider. Many providers allow only one connection at a time: if the playlist is open on another device, stop playback there and try again. A VPN can also make the server reject the connection.
The programme guide is empty
It depends on your provider offering one. For M3U playlists, add the guide's address when you edit the playlist. You can download it again from Ajustes (Settings).
I have forgotten the account password
Use Olvidé mi contraseña (I forgot my password) and then the recovery code to open your playlists again. If you do not have the code but are still signed in on another device, change the password from that device.
